Content Authoring

As one of the world's leading educational publishers, Pearson Education began transitioning from print to digital textbooks in 2019. While this shift improved overall production efficiency, the digital authoring process remained unexpectedly time-intensive. The company's internal authoring tool, despite its comprehensive feature set, had evolved without systematic architectural planning, becoming increasingly complex for the production team to navigate as new capabilities were added. I was recruited to design an intuitive and efficient content production system that would enable creators to develop rich, interactive educational experiences beyond traditional textbook constraints. This initiative, spearheaded by my design team, successfully gained stakeholder support through rigorous research, iterative prototyping, and extensive user testing with the production team. Our user-centered approach effectively addressed the challenges of modern educational content creation while streamlining the production workflow.
