About

I fell in love with drawing around the age of 7, which I believe is one of the most powerful skills a designer can develop. This marked the beginning of my future career as a designer.

After high school, I studied business at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on a volleyball scholarship, playing on their varsity team as a right side hitter and middle blocker. After graduation, I studied communication design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC, Canada before moving to San Francisco in 2003.

Over the course of my career, I've been fortunate to work across many industries, starting off as a 3D artist for Electronic Arts, then freelancing as a web designer and illustrator for small businesses, which led to my first agency role at Organic, designing online campaigns for clients such as Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, Bank of America, Mitsubishi Motors, and Kimberley Clarke.

My interest turned toward learning how products actually work, landing a job at Sony where I led a design initiative to create a standard design language across their product portfolio. Shortly after, I led the redesign for the PlayStation Store which inspired the design language for the upcoming console's interface.

Afterwards, I led design for a Bay area-based security startup and an international education content publisher, redesigning their existing products to satisfy and grow their user base and transform their product development process.

I currently live in Oakland, California and enjoy drawing, hiking, riding my motorcycle, and occasionally DJing.
